Matt graduated from Salford University with a Sports Rehabilitation degree in 2002. Immediately afterwards he began working at Oldham Athletics football academy before moving back to Leicester in 2003 where he worked in sports injury clinics in Leicester and Nottingham.
In 2005 he qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist and continued to work in private practice in Nottingham and also for the Nottingham prison service. He has a particular interest in sports injuries and developed his skills in this area by working at Nottingham Forest’s football academy and with Nottinghamshire Cricket club.
In November 2009 he moved to Bristol and has since worked for us at Keith James Physiotherapy Clinics over both of our practices. This year he qualified to use acupuncture and has been using it regularly for pain relief and the treatment of musculo-skeletal injuries. He is a keen hockey player, previously captaining Leicester Hockey club and representing Leicestershire before joining Firebrands hockey club in Bristol where he currently plays.
Using his own experience in sport he is able to transfer this into the clinical setting enabling injured sportsmen and women to get back to their full potential. |
